Robert Kirby hit the nail on the head about the recent TSA flap ("Annoyed by airport security? Just be glad I'm not your TSA agent," May 26).

Before we complain about the TSA for our two-hour wait, perhaps we should look in the mirror for solutions. I travel a lot and have never missed a flight. Here are my secrets to delay-free travel:

1) Arrive 2 hours before scheduled boarding time. 2) Check your bag at the ticket counter. 3) Have your license and boarding pass ready. 4) Instead of watching cat videos on YouTube, check the TSA website to see what can't go through security and don't pack things that won't go. 5) Take off your belt, remove your change, watch and keys, drink all your water and untie your shoes before you get to the scan tunnel. See if these little changes don't improve the system.

In addition, elect representatives who will not cry about invasive screening tactics and are willing to pay TSA agents like security professionals not Walmart shelf stockers. If we want a better flying experience we should be willing to be a better flying public.
