The Uinta Facility at the Utah State Prison was put on lockdown Saturday after two inmate assaults.

As of 4:30 p.m., the lockdown had lifted. Visitations will resume on Sunday.

None of the injuries in the two assaults were life-threatening, according to prison spokeswoman Brooke Adams.

In the first attack, an inmate stabbed another inmate at about 6:30 a.m. during recreation time, she said. The injured inmate was treated at the Wasatch Infirmary at the prison for injuries.

At about 8 a.m., two inmates began fighting in their cell in a different section of the Uinta Facility and one of them was stabbed numerous times, Adams said. He was treated in the Wasatch Infirmary at the prison and then taken by ambulance to University Medical Center for treatment.

The names of the inmates involved in the incidents will not be released, Adams said.
