The University of Utah's $45 million Lassonde Studios — a facility where students can live, create new products and launch companies — was on display Thursday.
The 160,000-square-foot, five-floor Lassonde Institute, a division of the Eccles School of Business, opened in August. Its first floor, according to a news release from the school, is an "innovation space, workshop and cafe open to all students" at the U. and serves as a student union for entrepreneurship.
Above are four floors of housing for 400 students who made the cut from a field of more than 1,300 applicants. "Every academic level" of post-secondary education is represented in that group of residents, the release states, from freshmen to doctoral students.
