A 52-year-old Millard County woman is missing after her SUV was found Sunday in a remote part of southwest Utah County, police said Monday.

Stacy Jo Morrill, from Oasis, was being sought in a remote abandoned mining area a few miles east of Eureka near State Road 6, where her Jeep was found abandoned on Dividend Road, according to the Utah County Sheriff's Office.

A man and woman driving in the area on Saturday evening had seen the Jeep on which the doors were open, but attributed it to someone sight-seeing in the area. When the same couple, from Eureka, drove by the Jeep again Sunday evening and saw that the doors were still open, they called 911.

Deputies who collected information from the Jeep identified the registered owners as Morrill and her husband, of Oasis, located a few miles south of Delta in Millard County.

When Millard County Sheriff's deputies contacted the husband, he said Morrill had left their home sometime between 6 and 8 p.m. on Saturday.

Morrill is believed to have taken as much as $3,000 in cash with her, but she reportedly has no credit cards and did not take her cell phone, police said.

She is described as Stacy is 6 feet tall, about 198 pounds with hazel eyes and blond hair.

The search on Saturday evening included the Utah County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue team and a Utah Department of Public Safety helicopter.

Search efforts resumed Monday morning, with the Utah County sheriffs Mounted Posse and a fixed-wing aircraft joining in.

Some items believed to belong Morrill were found in and near her vehicle, but there were no indications she is injured or that foul play is involved, police said.

Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts is asked to contact the Utah County sheriff's dispatch at (801)794-3970.

Other than some knee problems, Morrill has no other known medical issues. She may be experiencing emotional stress or could be suffering from undiagnosed mental health issues, police said.
