Whether you enjoy "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" or "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch," your favorite Christmas carol probably has been brought to life in a whimsical window display inside the Grand America Hotel.

"Songs of the Season," the Salt Lake City hotel's free holiday display, will be unveiled Tuesday and is open to the public through December.

Park City artist Jonnie Hartman, a photographer who also works with large-scale sculptures, sketched the ideas for 17 windows in June.

With the help of three area artists, she has turned them into colorful works. This is her third year overseeing the popular holiday window stroll.

"It's fun to dream up everything, see it become an actual piece in the window and a then see the reaction when it is unveiled," she said last week during a sneak peek of the display.

Visitors are encouraged to stroll through the hotel, guess the song depicted in the retail windows (forms are provided) and then turn in their answers for a fresh-baked holiday cookie.

The hotel also will have a towering Christmas tree, thousands of twinkling lights and a life-size gingerbread cabin created by executive pastry chef Xavier Baudinet and a crew of bakers.

What does it take to throw such a grand holiday celebration? Grand America officials shared these staggering numbers:

2,000 • Hours spent creating the holiday window display.

45,000 • Sugar cookies to be baked and given to guests.

7,000 • Strings of low-voltage lights used throughout the hotel.

1,300 • Pounds of flour used to build the life-size gingerbread log cabin along with 300 pounds of sugar, 1,500 eggs, 150 quarts of molasses and 100 pounds of chocolate.
