Unified Police suspect that a man was shot to death in a Millcreek apartment that he was house-sitting.
Gildardo Toledo, 32, of Kearns, was staying at the apartment at 875 W. Meadowbrook Expressway since about a week ago, said Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal. A woman with whom he'd had a child was out of town with their child, Hoyal said.
After Toledo's family could not make contact with him for several days, one of the woman's relatives went to the apartment Friday evening and found his body inside. Officers responded about 6:35 p.m.
Toledo appears to have died several days ago, apparently from a gunshot wound, Hoyal said. His body will be taken to the state medical examiner to confirm his cause of death.
Investigators have no information about suspects. The Unified Police Department asks anyone with tips to call them at 385-468-9815.
