Bountiful police have arrested three men who they suspect are linked to as many as 33 burglaries along the Wasatch Front.

Detectives arrested the men this week, whom they had dubbed the "pillowcase bandits," and booked them into Davis County jail. The trio are suspected of breaking into homes and, typically, going straight to the bedroom and using the homeowners' pillowcases and laundry baskets to carry out jewelry, said Sgt. Troy Killian.

They also allegedly grabbed a few electronics at times, Killian said.

The burglaries began as early as October, and were spread out from Davis to Utah counties, according to police. Detectives finally got a break in the case after issuing a news release last week, which led to a tip, Killian said.

Victims from five Bountiful burglaries have already identified items that detectives recovered, and investigators hope more victims can identify their belongings as well.

Anyone who believes they might own the recovered property is asked to call their jurisdiction's police or sheriff's department.
