One person is dead after a house explosion rocked a South Jordan neighborhood Wednesday.

Severe damage could be seen on the backside of the home at the house located in the area of 10500 South and 3200 West.

Crews from several agencies responded to two-alarm fire at approximately 3 p.m., “working to control significant damage to the affected residence,” per a news released from the City of South Jordna.

Nearby homes sustained minor damage and were evacuated as a precaution.

South Jordan reports search efforts have concluded, and the investigation into the fire remains ongoing.
