Draper Park trees don lights for holidays

(Rick Egan | The Salt Lake Tribune) The largest willow tree at Draper City Park glows with more than1,000 strands of lights, creating what they call The Tree of Life on Thursday, Dec. 24, 2020.

There is still time to drop by Draper Park and see more than 65,000 lights displayed on trees and the park’s bridge before the display starts to come down on Jan. 2.

Each year the city lights up the park for the holiday season. The tradition began in 2008 but the city has added more lights to the park each year. The biggest attraction when the park is lit is the large willow tree at the center of the park.

The lights went on at the start of December but they will be removed starting on Jan. 2.

Draper Park is located at 1300 East 12500 South. The lights are on from 5:30 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. and from 5:15 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
