Volunteer Jared Draper begins sorting clothing donations at the Salt Lake City Mission on Saturday. The mission distributed 1,000 Christmas food boxes and clothing to help Utahns in need during the holidays. "We are trying to make sure no one goes hungry on Christmas," said Joe Vazquez, pastor and assistant director at the local mission for the homeless and poor. In the coming weeks, the mission will also be hosting a community Christmas meal and a New Year's Day community meal for the homeless. It is seeking donations from the public, monetary and otherwise, to help with its goal. "Our plea is simple, help us feed the hungry and clothe the poor," said Wayne Wilson, pastor and Salt Lake City Mission executive director. To help, go to http://www.saltlakecitymission.org/.
