Boston • Police say a fugitive Massachusetts child rape suspect is also suspected in at least six sexual assaults and robberies in several states and may be headed back eastward across the country after being on the West Coast.
Massachusetts State Police said Monday 26-year-old Gregory Lewis is believed to have been in the Columbus, Ohio, area Sunday night and in the Indianapolis area before that. He was believed to be in the Denver area in early October, and in Portland, Oregon; Boise, Idaho; and Salt Lake City at mid-month.
Police said Lewis is suspected kidnapping, robbing and sexually assaulting women working in escort services he arranged to meet at hotels. He is believed to be driving a blue 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Lewis, from Southbridge, was last seen here Sept. 25.
