Salt Lake City police confirmed Tuesday that two suspects are in custody — and they are searching for a third person who may be involved — in the shooting death of a man whose body was found in neighboring Cottonwood Heights late last week.

SLCPD Detective Greg Wilking said Marco Antonio Garcia, 26, and Jorge Arturo Castanan-Serrano, 34, both Mexican nationals, had been arrested late Sunday.

Police were also looking for Jamie Clarissa George, 34, who is wanted for questioning. Wilking said she was possibly involved with the incident or knows what happened.

Probable cause statements accompanying Garcia's and Castanan-Serrano's booking records revealed little, only noting the pair had been identified by "a witness," and that both suspects acknowledged having set up the victim for a robbery, during which he was shot. Neither of the men were directly identified as the shooter in the statements.

Wilking, who noted the slaying remained under investigation, did not reveal specifics about where, how and exactly when the suspects were taken into custody. Authorities said more arrests were possible.

Both men were being held without bail in the Salt Lake County jail Tuesday on suspicion of first-degree felony aggravated murder and aggravated robbery counts.

Construction workers found the body of 31-year-old Mauricio Martinez last Friday morning in the parking lot of the Mountain America Credit Union branch at 6440 S. 3000 East.

However, investigators believe that Martinez actually may have been slain in the 1000 South block of Redwood Road in Salt Lake City before his body allegedly was dumped in Cottonwood Heights.

Other than confirming Martinez had been shot, detectives have refused so far to reveal further details on the victim's injuries. An autopsy was planned.
