Neon Trees and Imagine Dragons returned "home" to Velour Live Music Gallery in Provo on Friday to play acoustic sets and help an old friend whose venue hosted the internationally popular bands in their early days. Corey Fox, the founder and owner of Velour, is facing a costly kidney transplant and temporary shuttering of his business. Tickets for one-of-a-kind benefit concert — the first time the bands have appeared together on the Velour stage in the same show — went for $300 each. Local singer-songwriter Joshua James opened the show, which also included a patio party for ticketholders.

A second benefit concert — featuring Provo-based bands The Moth & The Flame and Fictionist — will take place at Velour on Saturday at 9 p.m. Tickets for that show, at $20 each, are available at 24Tix.com.
