An extravaganza of horses and human performers, devised by one of the founders of Cirque du Soleil, will land in Utah in April.

"Odysseo," a live show that bills itself as "the world's largest touring production," will put up its white big-top tent in the parking lot of Sandy's South Towne Center, for a string of performances running from April 14 to 23, the production company Cavalia Inc. announced.

Tickets — ranging from $39.50 to $249.50 — go on sale Wednesday at the company's website, cavalia.net, or by calling a toll-free number, 1-866-999-8111. Special pricing and packages are available for families, groups, children (2 to 12), juniors (13 to 17) and people 65 and over.

The $30 million production features 65 horses and 48 people — riders, acrobats, dancers and musicians — in what the company touts as "an immersive theatrical experience in which horses are the stars." Among the many sights in the show are a troupe of African acrobats, a life-size carousel, a three-story-high video screen and a lake filled with 40,000 gallons of recycled water.

The Montreal-based Cavalia was launched by Normand Latourelle, one of the co-founders of the famed acrobatic company Cirque du Soleil. Since the first performance of "Odysseo" in 2011, an estimated 1.8 million viewers have seen the show in North America.
