A man has been taken into custody after he was reportedly barricaded inside a motorhome on a Salt Lake City freeway. Troopers are trying to find out, though, if he was alone.

On Saturday afternoon, the man was barricaded in the vehicle on the southbound shoulder of Interstate 215, near 1300 South, said Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Jalaine Hawkes.

She could not immediately speak to what "the problem is," but troopers were bringing in a negotiator to "start a discussion about what's going on."

Shortly after 5 p.m., troopers had taken a man into custody, but the situation was still ongoing, Hawkes said. After searching the motorhome to make sure there was no one else inside, troopers declared the scene was safe.
