$14 • The tlayuda is a well-known Oaxacan dish bearing a striking resemblance to a large pizza. The house tlayudas at La Oaxaqueña start with a crispy tortilla crust, which is spread evenly with refried beans then topped with shredded cabbage, fresh slices of avocado and tomatoes. Generously applied to this base are grated Oaxaca cheese, spicy chorizo, thinly sliced beef strips (tasajo) and chile powder-crusted pork (cecina). The tlayuda is an ideal appetizer for a group or more than enough for a full meal for one.
