Visitors to the Midway Ice Castles explore one of the giant archways Thursday during a preview of the attraction, which opens Friday. Other features include tunnels, slot canyons, an ice slide, caverns, glacial waterfalls and a frozen throne. Believed to be one of three ice-castle attractions in the U.S., the Midway venue includes a light show set to music at night. Located at the Soldier Hollow Cross-Country Ski Resort in Midway, the venue is open Fridays from 3 to 11 p.m.; Saturdays from noon to 11 p.m.; and Monday through Thursday, 3 to 9 p.m. It is closed Sundays. Tickets are $9.95 to $12.95 for adults; children ages 4 to 11 get in for $6.95 to $8.95, and those under 4 enter for free. More details are available at icecastles.com/midway.
