Holiday markets are opening around Utah, providing gift options for the hard-to-please

Vendors of handcrafted gifts and other unique items can be found around the state between now and Christmas.

(Utah Museum of Fine Arts) Shoppers look over artists' work for sale at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts' Holiday Market in 2021. This year's market, set for Dec. 3-4, 2022, is one of several such events across Utah this season.

This is the time where holiday markets pop up everywhere around Utah, all with the same goal: To keep people from buying gift cards.

People who say they want a gift card, and those who give them, are surrendering in the face of too many past disappointments. Holiday markets provide a spark of optimism, one that says there’s something out there that speaks to the thoughtfulness of the giver and the good taste of the recipient.

Here’s a list of holiday markets opening between now and Christmas around Utah.
